Nursery School is registered for children aged 2-8 years therefore giving us the flexibility of placing a child of 2-3 years at either nursery, depending on their needs.

The nursery school is situated approximately 100 metres from the day nursery. The building consists of large rooms and wonderful outdoor facilities, with a secure garden with both grass and tarmac areas to enable various activities to take place.

Children progress through two groups whilst with the nursery school, with a large playroom, large creative room and a smaller quiet room for stories and singing on each floor.

We have the facility for small groups of children to use these rooms throughout the day. There is an emphasis on education although our fundamental aim is for the children to learn through play.

We receive teacher input from the Early Years team in Derby who work alongside our staff to help us fulfil all the criteria as set down by OFSTED through the Foundation Stage.

The displays around the nursery reflect current topics children are learning about and are all child-based. Weekly plans showing activities for the week ahead are displayed in the group rooms so parents are able to see exactly what their children will be doing.

By using the Early Years funding it is possible for parents of 3 and 4 year olds to receive free nursery education or a reduction to their fees.
